Travis’ areas of practice include legal ethics and professional conduct, general civil litigation, family law (collaborative) and essential estate counseling. He maintains the Martindale Hubbell highest Preeminent Attorney Recognition (AV) rating for skills and ethics based on professional peer reviews.
From August 2009 to January 2015, Travis served as Ethics Counsel for the Oklahoma Bar Association. In this position he guided lawyers as to ethics issues and compliance with the Oklahoma Rules of Professional Conduct, presented programs for lawyers’ and paralegals’ continuing legal education, monitored and trained Diversion Program participants, prepared articles on ethics and professionalism for seminars and the Oklahoma Bar Journal and served as an OBA liaison to the OBA’s Professionalism and Lawyers Helping Lawyers Committees, as well as the Legal Ethics Advisory Panel.
Travis is a writer and frequent contributor to the Oklahoma Bar Journal.
He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Language Arts (English) with Special Distinction in 1980, and a Juris Doctor degree with Distinction in 1984, from the University of Oklahoma.
He was awarded the Hadsell prize for English studies at the University of Oklahoma. He has been named an Oklahoma Super Lawyer.
